It’s World Down Syndrome Day, and the team at Proludic is celebrating everyone with an extra chromosome. To spread awareness and understanding we took our silly socks for a spin at our local park. Our team had good fun in their play time while supporting a cause that aligns with Proludic’s core value “Commitment” with a determination to see all children thrive and foster wellbeing for everyone.
Significance of Inclusion
As a company dedicated to enhancing communities through play and outdoor fitness, we recognize the importance of creating inclusive environments for all. We strive to raise awareness about the significance of inclusive play and fitness areas in communities. One way of doing this is through educational events focused on the design of accessible and welcoming spaces for everyone. Watch this space for more information coming soon.
Inclusive workforce
Additionally, we are proud to support inclusion in the workforce. Some of our products, like our Springers, are assembled through an inclusive process involving people employed by a Social Enterprise. By selecting these products, you’re supporting the professional integration of individuals with disability, fostering a more inclusive economy and society.
The extra chromosome
World Down Syndrome Day is celebrated on the 21st of March. This is significant because there are 3 copies of the 21st chromosome in Trisomy 21, aka T21. On the 3rd month of the year and the 21st day, we celebrate people with an extra chromosome.
But why socks? The shape of a sock is like the shape of a chromosome. So, let’s wear silly socks in bright colours with fun designs to celebrate everyone with an extra chromosome.
