NSW – Warrawee Public School Playground

City: Warrawee
Country: Australia

Site: Warrawee Public School, 1486 Pacific Hwy, Turramurra NSW 2074

Warrawee Public School decided its existing playground needed upgrading. Proludic had already provided play equipment to Warrawee Care Centre, located in the grounds of the school two years earlier, in 2008. The school selected a combination of Multi-Play equipment (J33129 Vivacity) for active play and a ship (J1955 Tanker) from the Naval Fleet for imaginative play activities. These items are suitable for groups of children to play on.

Several years later, the School asked us to come back to see if we could provide a better access point to the Tanker for a little boy with cerebral palsy who was attending the school. We installed a staircase at the back and he was then able to access the top deck and have fun with his friends. This is a good example of how to make a playground more inclusive so that all the children can play together. The teachers and students are delighted with their playground!
