The fun and inclusive playspace at Memorial Park pays tribute to the Kurrajong area – its natural beauty, its local animals and culture, its links to the local apple orchards and historic connection to the Pansy railway line.
Designed in line with the NSW Government’s “Everyone Can Play” Guidelines, the playground features Proludic’s inclusive Train , Accessible Carousel, Apple Springer, a Kanopé Multiplay unit, Play Panels, Rodeoboard and much more for both younger and older children’s enjoyment.
Children can also meet and play with the beautiful native animal sculptures we included in the playground!
A brief history:
The area has a long history and still has a connection to growing fruit trees in the area with Bilpin well known for its Apples that is west of Kurrajong.
The area is also known for a large koala population and this continues to be a connection to the place and the natural environment.
The brief was to design and construct a new playspace that encompasses the local cultural and natural beauty that surrounds the area, and represents the various aspects of the Kurrajong area.
