The Camberwell Grammar Early Learning Centre recently underwent an exciting transformation, creating a vibrant outdoor play and learning environment designed to spark curiosity, encourage exploration, and support inclusive play for all children.
At the heart of the upgrade is the Gardening Workshop. It is a hands-on play station where children can plant, water, and nurture their own mini gardens. This feature promotes sensory engagement and fine motor skills. It also fosters an early appreciation for nature and sustainability.
An Inclusive Digger in the sandpit provides a fun, collaborative play experience. It allows children of diverse abilities to dig, scoop, and move sand. The accessible design ensures every child can join in the action, helping to build both physical strength and social interaction.
The Oak-effect Kanopé Swing adds movement-based play to the space, offering both a traditional flat seat and a boat seat for varied swinging experiences. The natural timber aesthetic blends seamlessly with the outdoor environment, inviting children to enjoy active play in a calming, nature-inspired setting.
Music and sound are now part of the play environment. The Calypso Chimes Quartet and a set of Harmony Bells invite children to explore melody and rhythm. These instruments are tuned to specific musical keys, making it easy to create harmonious sounds.
