New at the Zoo

Billabong Zoo Playground has transformed into an exciting, inclusive playspace that welcomes visitors of all ages and abilities. Designed to provide a “wow factor” for families, school groups, and casual visitors alike, the upgraded playground offers something for everyone to enjoy. At the heart of the new playground is a custom-built tower from Proludic’s Adventure range. Surrounded by lush greenery, the towering structure creates a jungle-like atmosphere. Children can feel like they’re climbing high into the treetops as they explore. The tower features two slides: a swirling spiral slide for curious adventurers and a smaller slide to help younger children ease into the fun.

Accessibility and inclusion were key considerations in the design. The tower includes a wide staircase with enclosed side panels. This ensures safe access for children and providing space for a supportive carer when needed. Play panels integrated throughout the structure encourage problem-solving, fine motor skill development, and imaginative play. Underneath the tower, a cozy rest area with a little table and seating invites children to take a break or engage in role-playing games. It’s the perfect spot to imagine being jungle explorers or hosting a picnic in the wild!
