Creating a Playful and Sensory Haven for Young Children
Spring Street has been transformed into a vibrant and engaging play space designed especially for toddlers and young children. The new playground provides a safe and stimulating environment where little explorers can develop their physical, cognitive, and social skills through play.
A Design Focused on Early Development
The playground design encourages imaginative and sensory play while supporting the development of balance, coordination, and communication skills. At the heart of the space stands the custom Diabolo Baby Multiplay and Cottage Combination (J38705-C). This colourful structure is designed for children aged six months and up. This compact play unit offers age-appropriate challenges, gentle climbing opportunities, and welcoming spaces that encourage social interaction and cooperative play.
Around the main structure, a series of sensory and interactive elements enrich the play experience and invite exploration. The green Abacus Play Panel (J3424) provides a tactile and visual opportunity for children to explore counting and develop fine motor coordination.
The Wobbly Mirror Play Panel (J3428) sparks curiosity and self-recognition as children delight in seeing their reflections.
Sensory Flowers (J3418) add vibrant colour and gentle sound to the landscape, creating a joyful connection to nature. The custom bright yellow Tuboflower Talk Tubes (J3410) inspire communication and teamwork as children send playful messages through their flower-shaped ends.
Encouraging Movement and Balance
Low-level balancing and coordination elements encourage movement-based play and help toddlers build confidence in their mobility. Japanese Steps (J4904) and Balance Beams (J10) help young children develop stability and coordination in a safe, supportive way.
The Little Swing (J3960) adds gentle motion, supporting sensory integration and creating joyful movement experiences.
A Space to Grow, Play, and Connect
The completed playground at Spring Street Reserve now offers a joyful and welcoming environment where toddlers and their families can gather, play, and connect. Each element sparks curiosity, supports early learning, and fosters inclusive play experiences that help children grow together.
Local families have embraced the new playground with enthusiasm. One mum shared that her mothers’ group meets there regularly and loves how perfectly it suits their 18-month-olds. Another parent mentioned she appreciates that it’s mostly younger children using the space, making it a safe and comfortable environment where her toddlers can play freely without worry.
