The client selected Proludic’s Kanopé Multi-Play (J5608) as the main feature of the playground, combining modern design with natural inspirations the play equipment perfectly integrates in the natural environment of Sheahans Reserve. It engages children from 3 years old in fun, adventurous and active play: climb a tree, cross a bridge, use ropes to scale the forest, or rest in the Kookaburra Nest playhouse before sliding down the Great Waterfall !

The client is very satisfied with the aesthetics of the Kanopé Multi-Play, its size, layout and the wide range of play activities it offers. James Papadopoulos, Landscape Architect at Manningham City Council in charge of designing the playground, made the following comments:

“The Kanopé unit worked wonderfully at Sheahans reserve, which:

  • incorporated a number of climbing structures around the unit for multiple age groups ;
  • provided great height for the slide and platform encouraging exploration of the unit and site ;
  • blended steel and wood grain elements with a lime green colour scheme that helped to empathise its surrounding nature play setting ;
  • equally, the rocker (Proludic Quatro Springer J830) also channelled a similar material palette and colour scheme which echoed the surrounding nature play setting.”

The materials of these Proludic items are resistant to weathering, require minimal maintenance and are recyclable

Sheahans Reserve is a great example of a playground design that combines play equipment with natural elements. It allows young children to experience nature play, develop their physical, cognitive and social skills and have fun at the same time!
